Adam Daki

Adam is a current sophomore at Loyola University Chicago majoring in biology and minoring in music. He is from the suburbs of Chicago and frequently travels to Morocco which is his favorite country to visit. His deep interest in biology began from his love for the outdoors as a child which eventually grew into his passion as a student for the biological processes that drive cellular life. He is also an aspiring pianist and developed a unique interest in the intersection between his love for music and neuroscience. This curiosity brought him to the MNEME Lab to explore auditory signals and neural pathways. Specifically, he is researching the ways auditory signals impact and relate to stress responses and neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer’s in mice. Outside of the lab, he is active in organizations such as Friends of MSF which distributes supplies and aid for local humanitarian groups across Chicagoland. One fun fact about him is that he has a pet Bengal Cat at home named Codi who he describes as a “dog in a cat's body” for how much energy he always seems to have.
